1. Special Event - Bastille Day Celebrations - Wednesday, 14 July
The Bastille Day is nearly upon us, and Jacky, Kobi, and Adrian are preparing a very special menu to celebrate our National Day. Prising its details out of them seems to be harder than storming the Bastille, but they have revealed that the Bastille Day Lunch will be a three course affair with surprises along the way at 50pp; and the Bastille Day Dinner will be a four course extravaganza with even more surprises at 80pp; both accompanied with a Kir Communarde (as opposed to Kir Royal... for obvious reasons). We have already received numerous expressions of interest, so don't delay with your bookings, and celebrate the Bastille Day with us!!!

2. Special Event - Melbourne Foodie Experimentators - Take Seven
When: Monday, July 26, 7pm
Where: Le Bistro, 121 Greville Street, Prahran AND at the same time at L'Epicerie, 256 Glen Eira Road, Elsternwick - Click here to view the photos and the menu from our last event.
For those not familiar yet with the concept, Foodie Experimentators get together over a degustation dinner consisting of the innovative dishes not on our regular menu. The Foodies are asked to fill in a fun questionnaire about various aspects of each dish, including the taste, presentation, and... even the name! Each dish is served with a matching wine or aperitif. The next event will take place on Monday, 26 July 2010, at 6:45pm. Cost: 44pp (plus 31 for matching wines [optional, but highly recommended]). Please, note that bookings for this event are administered by www.meetup.com and cannot be taken through Chez Olivier. So,

3. The Truffle Season
It is getting cold and wet outside, which for us could only mean one thing - our famous truffle season is here! We have already organised the delivery of "Black Diamonds" from Western Australia, and our wonderful chefs, Jacky, Kobi, and Adrian, are coming up with a number of delectable dishes with truffles for Specials Menu throughout winter.

4. Tour de France
A reminder to all our friends that the 97th Tour de France is running from Saturday, 3 July to Sunday, July 25. And while we cannot transport you there, you can always enjoy a gastronomic Tour de France at Chez Olivier every day of the week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Go Cadel! By the way, our very good friend, the Olympic medallist Kathy Watt, is currently in France documenting the event and plans to show some of her photographs at Chez Olivier later this year.

5. Rencontre Autour d'un Verre
Every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 @ Le Bistro in Prahran
Every Tuesday night we are hosting Rencontre autour d'un Verre - "L'objectif est de ne parler que francais pendant une heure et plus..." If you want to de-rust your French, practice a little, or simply partake in the conviviality of a small group of Francophiles while nibbling on delicious morsels especially prepared by our chefs and enjoying a glass wine dans la langue de Moliere, call me to sign up for our weekly gatherings on 0438 357 099.
New members and friends always welcome. Cost: 30 pp

6. Galerie Chez Olivier
An exhibition of works by Tracey Roberts will continue through July. Tracey's music CD's, greeting cards, and bookmarks will be also available for sale at Le Bistro.

7. Don't forget to join us on Twitter and Facebook
We don't know much about all this new-fangled technology either, but thus far it has been fun. The number of our fans from across the globe on the Facebook is growing; more and more of my friends are following my "tweets" about food, wine, and the restaurant life. So, click on the icons above to check out our pages on the Facebook and Twitter, and why not join our global community of fans and followers!

8. Your Feedback is Welcome!
First of all, I would like to thank all our regular and new diners for the invaluable comments about our restaurant, food, and service. As we are gearing up to our 5th Birthday Celebration in October 2010, let me reassure you that your feedback has always been important to me!
Merci very much for reading my "FRENGLISH" or "FRANGLAIS" ...
