1. Breakfasts and Longer Hours - Thank you for your feedback!
In the January newsflash, I mentioned that I am toying with the idea of opening for breakfasts, and staying open throughout the day. I received an overwhelmingly positive response, especially from those of you who live in the vicinity of either of the restaurants, saying that you would love to be perked up by my morning treats; have a lazy late afternoon lunch; and drop in for an early pre-movie dinner. So, thank you all for your response, and now for the difficult part - convincing my boys and girls to get out of bed before 11am!!!

2. Special Event - St Valentine's Day - Sunday, 14 February 2010
February 14 is very special for me - it's the date I had arrived in Australia; and this year I am celebrating my 7th anniversary here (hard to believe how the time flies!). Oh, and of course, it is St Valentine's Day - so Jacky, Kobi, and Adrian are preparing something very special to treat you all - click here to download the Valentine's Day Menu, available all day for lunch and dinner. 3. La Galerie - Exhibition of Recent Photographs by Victor Pugatschew
We are thrilled to present an exhibition of exquisite photographs of France by Victor Pugatschew, the Russian / Australian photographer (and champagne connoisseur!!!). The exhibition will go up next week, but you are welcome to preview his works online. All works in this exhibition are for sale, and sales enquiries are welcome at 0409 409 239 or on eugene@chezolivier.com.

4. Melbourne Foodie Experimentators
Our first Degustation Event was a Roaring Success!!!
Over 30 adventurous diners have gathered together last Monday at Le Bistro over a seven course degustation menu prepared especially for the occasion by Kobi and his able crew, each course accompanied by wines or apperitifs selected by Albert and yours truly. It was not all just fun and games, as our foodies has to fill in a detailed questionnaire about various aspects of each dish, including the taste, presentation, and... even the name! The night was so successful, that we have already pencilled in the next Foodie Experimentators Meet-Up. We will upload photos of the event soon, but in the meantime click here to join this new group (don't delay - spaces are filling up fast for our March event!)
Cost: 40pp (plus 35 for matching wine [optional]).

5. Rencontre Autour d'un Verre
Every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 @ Le Bistro in Prahran from February 2, 2010
I will personally host Rencontre autour d'un Verre from February 2010 - "L'objectif est de ne parler que francais pendant une heure et plus..." If you want to de-rust your French, practice a little, or simply partake in the conviviality of a small group of Francophiles while nibbling on delicious morcels especially chosen by me from our chefs and enjoying a glass wine dans la langue de Moliere, call me to sign up for our weekly gatherings on 0438 357 099.

7. Online Boutique Coming Soon
It is something I always wanted to do for a long time, and following one of my many New Year's resolutions, I am finally doing something about it! The initial idea is to offer you a selection Chez Olivier brand kitchen wear, souvenirs, glasses, and limited edition plates; and a produce section with a selection of spices, sauces, and marinades with our chefs' secret recipes. However, as always - I am open to your suggestions and recommendations as to what you would like to see offered in our Boutique.

We don't know much about all this new-fangled technology either, but thus far it has been fun.
