1. Introducing New Wines on the Menu:
I am thrilled to introduce new delicious and delectable drops of red on our wine list. These mainly come from Boutique Wineries in the renowned Bordeaux wine region, and include Chateau Corbin 2006, Chateau Saint Jacques 2006, Chateau Noaillac 2006, Les Piliers de Chateau Maison Blanche 2005, and Chateau Philao La Gravelle 2004. Click here to learn more about these wines.

2. Special Event - Melbourne Foodie Experimentators - Take Four
When: Monday, May 3, 7pm
Where: Le Bistro, 121 Greville Street, Prahran and L'Epicerie, 256 Glen Eira Road, Elsternwick
For those not familiar yet with the concept, Foodie Experimentators get together over a seven course degustation menu consisting of the innovative dishes not on our regular menu. The Foodies are asked to fill in a fun questionnaire about various aspects of each dish, including the taste, presentation, and... even the name! Each dish is served with a matching wine or aperitif [optional]. Click here to view the photos and the menu from our last event. The next event will take place in four weeks' time on Monday, 3 May 2010, at 7pm. Cost: 44pp (plus 31 for matching wines [optional, but highly recommended])

3. Special Event - Chez Dominique
When: Monday, 12 April 2010, from 6 pm
Where: Le Bistro, 121 Greville Street, Prahran
Those who came to the last few Rencontre autour d'un Verre would have met my delightful mum, Dominique. She is here from Bordeaux for a couple of months, and she proposed to have a very special night at Le Bistro. On Monday night, 12 April 2010 Dominique will take over Chez Olivier and its kitchens, and dish out her secret Bordelaise specialities. Even I won't be allowed in the kitchen (talk about deja vu!), so the menu is a secret and a surprise. All I know that the night will consist of an aperitif and hors d'oeuvres on arrival, followed by a three course dinner. Bookings are recommended; cost: 50pp.

4. Special Event - Charcuterie Night
When: Monday, 26th April 2010, 7pm
Where: Le Bistro, 121 Greville Street, Prahran
Following up on your suggestions, as well as those of our Foodie Group members, we are throwing together a Charcuterie Night. It will be a cocktail style mix-'n'-mingle supper with a variety of dishes and a complementary glass of wine at only 25pp. The numbers for this event are limited, so don't delay with your bookings!

5. Rencontre Autour d'un Verre
Every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 @ Le Bistro in Prahran from February 2, 2010
I am personally hosting Rencontre autour d'un Verre - "L'objectif est de ne parler que francais pendant une heure et plus..." If you want to de-rust your French, practice a little, or simply partake in the conviviality of a small group of Francophiles while nibbling on delicious morsels especially prepared by our chefs and enjoying a glass wine dans la langue de Moliere, call me to sign up for our weekly gatherings on 0438 357 099.
New members and friends always welcome. Cost: 30 pp

6. Galerie Chez Olivier - Our Photography Exhibitions Continue
Continuing through April at Le Bistro: The Basque Country by Leo Terrando, and A Season in France by Victor Pugatschew. All works in these exhibitions are for sale, and you are welcome to view the exhibitions online [click here]. Sales enquiries are welcome at 0409 409 239 or on eugene@chezolivier.com.

7. Restaurant News - Breakfasts, WiFi, and Outdoor Dining
A quick reminder that we are now open for breakfast at Le Bistro from Wednesday to Sunday from 8am; and at L'Epicerie from Monday to Friday from 9am - and staying open on those days all day long without closing for our usual late-afternoon siesta. More exciting news about L'Epicerie - first of all, we now have full liquor licence for the outdoor area in front of the restaurant; so you now can enjoy our food alfresco. Secondly, for all of you business types who can't tear yourself away from your laptops, L'Epicerie now has full WiFi wireless access (ask our staff for more details).

8. Don't forget to join us on Twitter and Facebook
We don't know much about all this new-fangled technology either, but thus far it has been fun. The number of our fans from across the globe on the Facebook is growing; more and more of my friends are following my "tweets" about food, wine, and the restaurant life. So, click on the icons above to check out our pages on the Facebook and Twitter, and why not join our global community of fans and followers!

9. Your Feedback is Welcome!
First of all, I would like to thank all our regular and new diners for the invaluable comments about our restaurant, food, and service. As we are gearing up to our 5th Birthday Celebration in October 2010, let me reassure you that your feedback has always been invaluable to me!
Merci very much for reading my "FRENGLISH" or "FRANGLAIS" ...
